大森研究室は都市の歴史を紐解き、
今と向き合い、未来を考える、都市計画の研究室です。
都市は常にその住人を入れ替えながら、変転をし続ける、捉えどころのないものです。一方で，世界の人口の半数以上は既に都市に住んでおり、世界経済は都市を中心として回っています。
私たちは、都市といかに向き合うか、常に問われています。そして、それは人と向き合うことです。人とは、決して今の住民・市民だけではなく、かつてまちをつくりあげてきた先人たち、さらにいずれ都市で暮らす未来の人々、子どもたちです。
東京科学大学大森研究室では、都市計画を中心に、都市と、人と、地球環境を大きなスコープとして、調査・研究・活動を行う研究体です。
※大森研究室は環境・社会理工学院のうち，学士課程（学部生）は建築学系，修士・博士課程は都市・環境学コースに属します。
Omori Laboratory is an urban planning laboratory that unravels the history of cities, faces the present, and considers the future.
Cities are elusive entities that are constantly changing and replacing their inhabitants. However, more than half of the world’s population already lives in cities, and the global economy revolves around cities.
We are constantly being asked how we should deal with cities. And that means dealing with people. By people, we do not just mean the current residents and citizens, but also the ancestors who built the towns in the past, and the future people and children who will one day live in cities.
Omori Laboratory at Institute of Science Tokyo is a research organization that conducts surveys, studies, and activities with a focus on urban planning, with a broad scope that covers cities, people, and the global environment.
